Privacy Notice

This notice describes information associated with a visit to Redwood County Released Inmates. It explains what a visitor may submit, what may be gathered automatically, how that data is used, and when service providers or legal authorities may receive it. By continuing to use the site, a visitor accepts the practices stated here.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search Tools

A name, county, or other detail entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Redwood County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s separate rules apply to the query once it is sent.

Messages Sent to Us

If you send an email or use an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Routine web technology may create technical logs when a page loads. Those logs can contain:

  • The visitor’s Internet Protocol address.
  • The browser name and version in use.
  • The device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when one is supplied.
  • The date and time of the request.

Cookies and Browser Controls

Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site and support certain features. Most browsers let users delete or block cookies. Some parts of the site may work differently when cookies are refused.

Purposes for Using Data

Collected information may be used to:

  • Operate the site and maintain reasonable page speed.
  • Send a search request to the selected partner service.
  • Understand which Redwood County resource pages visitors use.
  • Identify errors, misuse, and other technical problems.
  • Present advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.

Links and Outside Services

Pages may link to Redwood County release records, Sheriff and Minnesota corrections resources, court portals, federal locators, and outside search tools. After a visitor follows such a link, the destination’s privacy policy controls its collection and use of data. Minnesota government records themselves are governed by applicable access laws, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, but those laws do not replace an outside website’s privacy terms.

Advertising partners may use their own technology to follow activity across different sites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner’s systems, not records stored by this site.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still be provided to:

  • Search partners that process a visitor’s query.
  • Analytics providers that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
  • Law enforcement or another government authority acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use customary safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No website, network, transmission, or storage system is fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, exposed, or compromised.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may contact us and request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the limits of what we hold, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of personal data maintained about them.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Ask for deletion of eligible personal data.
  • Opt out of certain processing when that choice is legally available.

These requests apply to information controlled by this site. Requests to inspect or correct an official Redwood County record must go to the agency that maintains it under Minnesota law.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this privacy notice as site practices or legal duties change. The updated version becomes effective when it is posted here with a new effective date.
